I'm spending winters in Aspen to keep an eye on my aging Parents.
This winter I'm geared up for skiing. Already I have four pairs
of skiis! (Alpine, Nordic, Skate, and BackCountry) I think I have plenty
of clothes and I can see spending a small fortune on wax and sunscreen.
Learning to skate-ski has been my biggest challenge but I feel encouraged after trying out some shorter skiis. So far I can skate about eight-ten miles slowly.
In the basement of Hayes House I found my old childhood skiis. They are wooden, cut down to about 24" and had cable bindings. My sister Elli painted the left ski so that I could tell my left and right feet apart.. |

Two things I've had to reluctantly let go are my writer's group and my Improvisational Dance group; both from lack of attendance. I also seem to have dropped out of Tango for reasons unclear. Some new activities Currently I'm a Vice President of Les Dames 'd Aspen, which raises money for Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Aspen Music Festival & School, Aspen Writers' Foundation, Jaz Aspen, and Theatre Aspen. I'm writing some short stories about growing up in the Roaring Fork Valley. They are posted here. |

When I can I make it home to Maui Hawaii, where I dance every other day, swim in the pools, hike along the wild North Shore, paint, and visit all my loved ones. |
